Makares

Makares are a cluster of three uninhabited islands Agios Nikolaos (the biggest), Agia Paraskevi and Strongyli. It’s a natural habitat home to many rare species of birds. The islands also have a flora with many rare and endemic species.
Agios Nikolaos is distinguished for its lacy coastline that reaches 7.5 km and for its two beautiful beaches. The other two islands have steep and rocky coastlines.

Makares is also now as the “Blessed islands”. Their etymology is fascinating. Due to Greek mythology, according to Hesiod, it was the place of “Olvia” (happy) heroes, who never die and still live on these islands in a state of “Bliss”.

The local tradition states that they got their name from the sounds of the waves, that when they hit the rocks sounded like people singing.

Donoussa

Donoussa is 16 mi north of Amorgos with an area of 13.75 km² and the highest point is 385 m over the sea. Its population is around 170 inhabitants. Whatever Donoussa lacks in size, it replenishes in colours. It has some of the most beautiful seashores of the Cycladic coastline.

The island has a serene landscape with beautiful sandy beaches with emerald waters. The spectacular cave of Fokosplilia, one of the last refuges of the Mediterranean monk seal and the Cave of Tihos with impressive stalactites in the bay of Xylobatis.

Your day cruise is private with a maximum of 10 passengers. During the cruise, you get the opportunity to swim and snorkel, and we stop at places of interest. If you have any wishes what to see or do you are welcome to tell us in advance. We also offer tailor-made cruises based on your wishes, and we can also camp one night on a desert beach.

In case of bad weather, winds above 3 Beaufort, we cancel the cruise. We will inform you at once via telephone or SMS. And we can reschedule for another day.
